HypnoBirthing® gives credence to the power of words. The HypnoBirthing® language was created to empower parents to understand their body’s processes through pregnancy and birth.

Today, many families use the names “mother, father, baby”, and those continue to empower parents- to-be. In other cases, a family has a different constitution, such as one parent, grandparents as caregivers, same gender parents, or parents who do not identify with a particular gender but rather identify as Trans, Queer, or Nonbinary.

As stated, one of the most important parts of my job is empowerment through language. Therefore, I choose to use inclusive language that is sensitive and allows those who take my class to identify with any labels they wish, or not to use labels at all. It is incredibly important to me that all parents and caregivers feel entitled to take on their role fully! This is the power of language.
